Empowering people with COPD

Almost half a million Danes live with COPD. The current telemedicine projects that have been introduced have a strong focus on what is necessary for the health care system - not what is necessary for the COPD sufferer. This study does away with the ´patient´ approach, as having COPD contains many other aspects than the physical. The concept KOLcare proposes a number of initiatives (technological and design) that will strengthen the sense of empowerment for those affected by COPD, while at the same time being a telemedicine service that must maintain the overall function, from a medical point of view. I was part of a group of 3 people who all contributed equally with research, analysis and concept. I also put together the report. Read it below.
